Africa is integrating in a multitude of ways: new institutional arrangements and organizations are being created but also novel forms of interactions beyond the nation state are shaping integration processes. This seminar examines formal economic and political processes of regional integration as well as more informal transboundary and transnational processes within the region of Southern Africa. It addresses academia, development cooperation practitioners as well as the interested public.
The seminar is jointly organized by the Initiative Southern Africa (INISA), the Centre for Area Studies (CAS) and the DFG Research Training Group (GK 1261): “Critical Junctures of Globalization” at the University of Leipzig and kindly supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The seminar will be held in English. Participation is free, although pre-registration is welcomed via info@inisa.de
